Turkish Fir Christmas Trees

Turkish Fir are similar to Nordmann Fir with a few exceptions. Turkish Fir needles radiate out more from the stem than Nordmann Fir, needles are 2 toned, with a dark, silvery green underside. Turkish Fir are growing in popularity, and have the best keep ability, along with the Nordmann Fir, than the other species.

Turkish Fir needles are short, dark green, soft, waxy, and and radiate out from the stem. It’s branches are strong, symmetrically arranged, making them good for holding heavier ornaments.  The waxy cuticle gives the tree a shiny appearance, helps prevent it from drying, and restricts putting out a fragrance.  This would be a better tree for someone with allergies. The Turkish Fir, along with the Nordmann Fir, is rapidly gaining in popularity, offers the best keep ability than the other species. Turkish Fir is a slower growing species than the others, which adds a greater expense to the grower, and usually results in a slightly higher net sales price.
